Spider Excavator Services

Services provided by Spiderworks

The walking excavators‘ special features are based on a sophisticated high-tech chassis and the patented boom: various hydraulic cylinders enable the all-rounder to adapt its wheels and supports to any terrain. For this in some countries the Menzi Muck is also called spider excavator. Fixed tilting edges on Menzi Muck tracked excavators can be adjusted depending on the task ahead thanks to the adjustable wheel and claw supports. As a result, it produces lifting and ripping forces beyond those of conventional excavators. A Menzi Muck weighing 9.5 tons produces an output similar to that of a 20 ton tracked excavator.

In construction the spider excavator is a synonym for an extremely versatile and powerful tool. On the one hand, the adjustable chassis enables access to almost any terrain and on the other, the machines’ performance is far superior to conventional machines in the same weight category. As a result, the areas of operation are almost endless to guarantee highly efficient use of the equipment.

Municipal services  The  allterrain spider excavator even proves its versatility within the context of water supply and distribution. The equipment uses biologically degradable hydraulic oil during work in bodies of water to protect the environment. Safe and efficient operations are guaranteed by various additional equipment depending on the water depth or terrain. Without any additional equipment the Menzi Muck is suitable for operation in streams and rivers up to a depth of two metres. It climbs over larger obstructions and the flexible chassis adapts to uneven terrain. The equipment can be used in marshes, narrow canals or torrents as a result of its ideal weight distribution and vast levels of stability. Attachments with high levels of power consumption, such as mulching units can be used profitably thanks to the high hydraulic output.

Landscape gardening Construction equipment must be agile and provide excellent climbing characteristics, most of all in landscape gardening and cemetery construction. Most of all the smallest Menzi Muck models are welcome helpers as part of this type of landscaping activities. If more power is required, the large walking spider excavator is also suitable for the construction of noise protection embankments or retaining walls. Make landscaping efficient and clean thanks to a host of attachments

General earth works

Spider excavators have a lot of power in a little machine.
Extendable dipper arm and long legs enable them to perform work that would require a much larger and heavier tracked excavator.
With a range of attachments on tilting or tilt rotating hitches we are capable of any job in the most difficult of places.

Mulching and slashing / mowing

Almost a combination of Tractor and excavator. Spider excavators are extremely well suited to  slashing and mulching jobs. With the ability to drive upto 15kph, crawl slowly up the steepest of slopes, traverse uneven terrain, step over obstacles, straddle guard rails and move the legs in and out for tight access, Spider excavators have proven to be the most efficient and cost effective method of vegetation management in most situations. Road side or large acarage. We have the right attachments for each situation. Flail mulchers, fixed tooth mulchers and even rotary axes capable of trees up to 1m thick!
